In the time since, it has become a fixture of the H-D® touring scene and one of the more influential bikes in the lineup. This is an ideal option for riders seeking a classic touring bike with premium features, such as Boom! Box GTS and optional RDRS, and you can opt for either a chrome or blacked-out aesthetic.
Road Glide® Overview
The Road Glide—and its brother vehicle the Street Glide—set the standard for the modern American touring motorcycle. The Road Glide® introduced frame-mounted fairings to Harley-Davidson® tourers, and the fundamental difference between the two models is that the Road Glide® has a shark-nosed fairing whereas the Street Glide has a batwing fairing. The 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® is a long-distance bike that is designed to ride with ease and comfort for long stretches of road. Other notable characteristics include upright riding placement, floorboards, a passenger seat, saddlebags and an infotainment system, which we will touch on more in a moment. Something else we will touch on more is RDRS, which is now optional with the Road Glide® and the biggest update for this model year.
Thrilling Performance
The 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® in Tampa has a distinctive feel. It feels different even than the Street Glide, which is a great reason to visit our location and test-ride them both. All standard models come with the Milwaukee-Eight® 107 V-Twin engine. It is powerful and smooth. It delivers sharp throttle control and provides that H-D® rumble you know and love. The engine delivers more than 90 hp and 100 lb.-ft. of torque. It features a 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers. Running weight is just a bit more than 850 pounds. Ground clearance is 6 inches. The wheels are Enforcer II Cast Aluminum.
Technologies & Customization
The Road Glide® is a sophisticated touring motorcycle. It features the Boom! Box GTS infotainment. The smaller screen is included by default, but you do have the option to upgrade to the 6.5-inch touchscreen. You can also have it included standard with the Road Glide® Special variant. As mentioned, RDRS is now optional with the Road Glide. RDRS stands for Reflex Defensive Rider Systems, and it is a factory option, which means you cannot choose to upgrade to RDRS after the fact. RDRS is a collection of electronic chassis control systems that help to stabilize the bike in suboptimal conditions.
RDRS is hardly the only way that you can personalize your 2021 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide. As one of the most popular rides in the H-D® lineup, the H-D® catalog support for it is extensive.
